Great New Winter Cocktails for Your Home Bar

Nothing beats the cold like warming up at your home bar with a few new and exciting cocktails. It does not have to be expensive to fill your bar with some of today's best warming cocktails and liquors. However, you do not want to be caught without something great to serve your guests when they arrive at your home. Pull up a few wood bar stools and focus on a few exciting drinks.

The Frostini

You have heard of the martini but what about the frostini. Coffee lovers will enjoy this ideal mixed drink. Here is how to make it.

One part Starbucks Cream Liqueur (though you can use an off brand product here)

One part Starbucks Coffee Liqueur (off brands are fine, again)

A quarter part DeKuyper Peppermint Schnapps

A sprig of mint for garnish

The result is a crisp, creamy treat that is sure to warm your insides on a cold winter evening. All you need to do is to mix the ingredients together (except for the mint) in a shaker with ice. Strain the ice out, after shaking for a few minutes. In advance, place your martini glasses in the freezer to add that extra level of cool.

A Midnight Snowstorm

If you have traditional wood bar stools at your home bar, you may want to give guests a cushion to sit on. They will need it after this Midnight Snowstorm!

The drink is similar to a hot peppermint drink, but it will help to warm up the insides. This flavorful drink is great for the holidays, but it is an ideal choice for guests or just a quiet evening at home on any cool winter night.

To make it, you will need:

Two ounces of white Crème de Menthe

Half an ounce of green Crème de Menthe

Hot chocolate

Whipped cream as a topping

Be sure your bar has a few Irish coffee glasses for this drink, as it works best in a larger, mug style cup. To make it, simply pour the premade hot chocolate into the coffee glass. Then, add the white Crème de Menthe into the glass. Place your topping of whip cream on top (make it festive!) and, finally drizzle a small amount of green Crème de Menthe on the top. Serve right away for the best presentation.

If you have not updated your home bar yet, you may want to consider a few updates to it. The winter months are the prime time to get friends together to share a few drinks. Choose modern bar stools with cushion bottoms for something a bit better than the cool touch of metal or wood. You can also add some additional coffee or hot chocolate-based drinks to your collection to be ready to serve your guests.
